Just a Touch of Pink

Well it worked , I used the Seal Brown and Red Voilet, but only 4-6 Tbsp's though per 1/2 Yard of Wool. Instead of wasting the rest of the dye formula I dyed more wool with the full Cup of Dye. Both were heavily abrushed as the wool is going to be used to design a young persons face; so the darker lines needed to define and outline the face should all be available throughout these pieces of wool.

My Little Helper assisting the process

My dog Libby loves to help with our rug designs, shown here she is bringing a toy to the project as my mother cuts some burlap off the bolt. Don't look at the mess in the background the kids were over to visit and I haven't cleaned up yet.

Leaves, Leaves lots of Leaves

Well , it was not a very exciting rug hooking or dying weekend the Animal Shelter fundraisers absorbed most of my time and an enjoyable shopping trip Sunday. I did dye a small amount of 'blue' seems to be the color of the month. I have a speciality dye to do this week a facial tone for a young girl, I'm planning to try a red violet and seal brown formula first.

Thought you'd enjoy another item from my Auction finds - a symmetric pattern of leaves in teal green, with the bright pink hooked in the middle being complimented by the light pink background behind the leaves.

Stripes are In, Again

This is one of 4 rugs I just received, my Aunt was at an Auction and knows my mother and I are into rugs. We got 5 rugs for $40.00 what a steal, they are all in different levels of damage, I've had to put stain remove on one, they have been handwashed and line dried. This one is my favorite just simple stripes of red, green, taupe, burgundy, light teal, the black border is in bad shape and I'm hoping to be able to repair it.

Feeling Blue

I had to dye some Blues this weekend, on the left is my new color Royal Blue and on the right is my old faithful Sky Blue. I didn't get the color dark enough the first time, I had to double the formula. Success in the end. (2) 1/4 Blue and (4) 1/128 Blue Violet per 1/2 Yard of Wool
