Exact - in Wool Dying ?

This is the Dictionary description for EXACT:

–adjective , strictly accurate or correct: an exact likeness; an exact description

look at this picture now.....

look closely...

the top is a different shade than the bottom! well of course it is.... it's from a different bath bath.

I have to vent here... I love it when people buy wool and put every last strip of wool in, come back ask for more wool. I put a new dye bath on and I guess me not being as skilled in the absolutely positively exact shade they complain (in a nice way).

Anyone that has dyed wool will know the the problem areas, just few more grains of dye the measuring spoon is not holding the exact amount, the amount of water for mix, the amount of chlorine in the water that week (thanks Ben) I will try to re-dye this but at the end of the day better area measuring on their part or not using every last strip before coming back would be a better option. We will probably pull some strips and help her move it around. To my knowledge that is the only solution I may have to work with.

If anyone else has had this problem and would like to share I would appreciate it.

It's a Celebration kind of night

Makes me think of that song, "Celebration Time, Come On"

The new Celebration Magazine is here and guess what I'm doing soon, on the stove is the new Golden Brown and also an Olive color as soon as they are washed and on the dry line I'm off to bed with my new magazine. I have been on the go everyday this week on vacation, on my way to Prince Edward Island tomorrow for the Canada Games.

I was in Advocate this week as a tourist with my Aunt and Uncle I showed them Cape D'Or Lighthouse and we eat there in the small tea room the food was excellent with the new management's cooking .

Fortunately done of us fell off the rocks trying to get that perfect picture.

More than just Eyes

A little more done on the cat pattern, this may be the last you will see of this rug depending.....

this is a partially finished rug for a lady in the Hospital , she was sooooo bored when my mom went to visit her, she has broken her hip and not allow to move around at all for several weeks, so the hardest areas of the rug were hooked ahead of time, now she can freely just hook around in the body area.

My Beautiful Mistake

Remember the Leafy Green gone bad ? supposed to be Sage Green! well I re-dyed the Sage Green today (on my lunch hour) and my beautiful mistake is dry and ready to be ironed. I threw two small amounts of leftover blues and a red on my Leafy Green formula. Should be interested to see it cut in strips.

99.9% Done Boston Terrier

Update on the Boston Terrier Rug, I put a meter stick on the rug to show how very large it is.

The owner of this rug will be placing it in her front entrance and as you walk in you'll see the Dog Dixie and as you leave you will again see a full image of Dixie. One more batch of sage green to dye tonight. I have all the wool dyed for the previous post on the 2 Horses also.

If you are wondering why I didn't blog for 2 days I brought home another rescue dog that need some specialize love and care. You can read about Jackson in our local Animal Shelter Blog.

Jackson already went home this afternoon so I'm filled with joy and sadness at the moment.

Planning Session to Finalize the two Horses

There was some last minute planning today to help with this 2 Horses pattern, it was decided to move the names of the horses lower down the pattern a little bit and the right horse's neck has to be re-shaped over to the right side.

Tonight I'm dying the Green with Brown abrushing needed for the background. There's a timeline on this one as it will be displayed in the local Oxford Exhibition this month.

Today is my Lucky Day

I received an early B-Day gift from a friend tonight.

My Lucky Bamboo is sitting in my wool room enjoying the partial sunlight. I did a little research how to take care of 'him' so I added a little filtered water and need to tie a red ribbon around the stems. My mother asked me what I want for my B-Day and I said " I have everything I need"

Guess my friends really do know what I need, my new Lucky Bamboo needs to have a name....

I'm thinking Harvey, Harvey can be a distant cousin to George the Bonsai tree.

I'm planning to use this little bird pattern as one of my fall project, these are some fairly old pieces from the attic stash. I have dyed a reddish brown for the bird so far.

Scrape, Scrape and Scrape some more

Well I spend the morning scrapping wallpaper and I'm over half way done. This is not your normal wallpaper removal job, this wallpaper comes off in 2 layers and lots of wallpaper paste. I started this project a few months ago and was so pissed off that it I just left it. I rented a wallpaper stripper that day and started early in the morning as I was told that "O that wallpaper will just peel off" BullS* after 3 hours nothing but a wet floor and a facial.

On a good note, I finished the webpage re-code. I had to cut, copy and paste some of the content but it will all be worth it. There's not alot of content on the site yet and I still have lots of images to replace but, at least I'm on the right path.

I bought my new name also as it was not available to me at the time. I will be www.momzwool.com but for now I'm still http://www.erughooking.com
