I think I have bitten off more than I can 'hook'

I have been slack writing on my Blog this week the days just slip by, my rug hooking project this week well it probably will be for the next year at this rate, as I'm moving quite slow. Not sure what I was thinking when I agreed to do this rug, it is a very old pre-printed pattern and as you can see from the first picture there are several holes in it.

Sooooo to properly hook this rug I have attached a second piece of burlap underneath with safety pins keeping the tension, and now hooking through 2 pieces of burlap.

Last night's accomplishment was two small green sections, there is a positive to a larger rug for the fall and winter months they are very warm on your lap. LOL

I will update everyone weekly but I can't promise a completed rug by Christmas.

  1. Wow--what a challenge! My first attempt at rug hooking was on burlap and I found it very difficult. In fact, I put it away and didn't try rug hooking again for many years. Good luck to you!

  2. Tks, I always hook on burlap but with 2 layers it's crazy I have to push with the palm of my hand to get some wool though, after I get the torn areas done, I'll try to cut the second level off and shouldn't be as bad.
